There is no such thing as an escape proof harness. We need to supervise our pets. I previously had a chest strap style harness from rabbitgoo, it’s a very popular and highly rated harness on Amazon. Once my tiny master of mayhem figured out how to escape it (after 2 years of never escaping), I needed to switch to something new and hope it would take him longer to figure it out. This harness is holster style, and I really prefer it. The fabric has some elasticity, which helps to get a secure fit, but still with the recommended two fingers of clearance between fur and harness I added a little bit of extra Velcro around the waist area, to keep the flap secure. I have no doubt my little goblin could figure out how to escape, but with me increasing my supervision and empowering him to explore more, rather than restricting his movements, I am confident this harness was the very best choice for his chaos needs.
Got this when my cat had an allergic reaction between his shoulder blades, and was looking for something less restrictive than a cone. (Note: if your pet is going to be in a cone please get one of the ones here with fabric around the neck, it's so much more comfortable for them.) He didn't like it, of course, but decided to keep just in case, although he's an indoor cat. Biggest downside is there should be a handle on the top so you could pick the cat up quickly if needed. The style would support, and it holds him firmly, but wish there was a handle to get him out of trouble fast.

only tried 2 other harnesses but this is by far the best! my cat wouldn’t even move in the other harnesses, this one he acts like it’s not even there, velcro’s adjustable so it’s perfect

SO FAT WORKS GOOD.
I need to transport my 2 felines about 2 hours north of me to our new home. I decided that they would each have a car seat and then I needed harnesses. The 1st one that I bought I put on my very large one and flopped around like a fish. It scared me and that was it with that one. I then bought 2 of these and both of my cats are calmed by them (never thought that was possible!) and they wear them around for a while every day to get them used to the feeling. These are honestly wonderful, well made, super easy to put on them and great to have for 4th of July noises too.
